چکیده
This study developed a computational model to assess the optical properties of nuclear cataracts, using slit-lamp lens images for clinical evaluation based on color and opacity. Cataracts were represented as spherical particles distinct from surrounding medium, with diameters ranging tens hundreds nanometers. examined effects particle diameter, concentration, colorimetric opacity cataracts their relationship retina. The findings indicate that size concentration influence To ensure alignment Lens Opacities Classification System III, colors defined absorption coefficient limited within predetermined range. was used simulate yellow-tinted vision experienced by patients cataracts.

Clinical importance of the lens opacities classification system III (LOCS III) in phacoemulsification.
The aim of this study was to compare the correlation of features of cataracts graded by the Lens Opacities Classification System, version III (LOCS III) with recorded operative characteristics during the phacoemulsification. The retrospective study included 245 cases operated on by a single surgeon from October 2003 to March 2004. The cataract was graded at the biomicroscope using the 4 grading...

The study, performed by Dr. West and her coworkers, reports on the grading of nuclear lens opacities by clinical means, a...
متن کاملOccupational cataracts and lens opacities in interventional cardiology (O'CLOC study): are X-Rays involved?
BACKGROUND The eye is well known to be sensitive to clearly high doses (>2 Gy) of ionizing radiation. In recent years, however, cataracts have been observed in populations exposed to lower doses. Interventional cardiologists are repeatedly and acutely exposed to scattered ionizing radiation (X-rays) during the diagnostic and therapeutic procedures they perform. These "low" exposures may cause d...
متن کاملComparative analysis of the nuclear lens opalescence by the Lens Opacities Classification System III with nuclear density values provided by Oculus Pentacam: a cross-section study using Pentacam Nucleus Staging software.
PURPOSE To compare the clinical classification of cataract using the Lens Opacities Classification System (LOCS) III with the mean values of lens density provided by the Pentacam Scheimpflug System in nuclear cataracts. METHODS One hundred and one eyes from 101 patients with age-related nuclear cataract were submitted to clinical examination for lens grading score using LOCS III. According to...
متن کاملSenile cataract progression studies using the Lens Opacities Classification System II.
PURPOSE To determine cataract progression rates at 6-mo intervals as evaluated using the Lens Opacities Classification System II (LOCS II). METHODS Idiopathic age-related cataracts in both eyes of 50 cataract patients and 17 normal control subjects were graded. The lenses were reexamined at 6 and 12 mo (+/- 2 mo) from baseline to determine rates of change. Progression or regression in patient...
